Last year, our halal turkey was wrapped in halal turkey-bacon. Our first halal turkey: our friends’ first Thanksgiving in America. I’m proud of my new essay, published on ParentMap, about last year’s Thanksgiving dinner and all we learned through our friendship with two wonderful immigrant families from Afghanistan.
This year, we are the immigrants and looking forward to sharing an Italian turkey with more new friends.
